Today we found his first CURL!!! Here is the best pic I could get...its on the exact middle back of his head.
Today at his check up he weighed 20 lbs 13 oz (50%), is 29 3/4 in long/tall (90%), and his head is 18 1/2 in around (90%)!! Doc says we have a tall boy with lots of brains!
So now Zane's weight percentile is nowhere near his height percentile...and of course Dr. Eisner thinks he could 'fatten up a bit'. She says he needs to be getting about 32 oz of milk (formula) a day. And that right now food is secondary to the milk. Previously we have been feeding him food and then giving a bottle afterwards but now we are going to switch that around during the day. He is down to only breastfeeding first thing in the morning and seems to be doing that less and less. So pretty soon we are going to start giving him a bottle then too.
Dr. Eisner also suggested putting about a teaspoon of olive oil in his bottle to help him pack on pounds - she said her Italians do it...I said we were Irish and preferred Whiskey in our bottles!! LOL She also suggested chicken liver sauteed in olive oil and then ground up, when he starts eating meat. She said it breaks down easily in their system and will help keep him full.
In other food news...Zane started feeding himself this month (July 19 to be exact) when presented with sweet potato puffs and mum mums.

Zane still has two white bumps in the middle of his bottom gum, but no teeth are breaking through just yet. He says one word (if you can call it that) "da da da da" several times all the time when he talks, and he uses different inflections to get accross his feeling. Sometimes he says is soft and high pitched, sometimes he yells it in a baratone! We don't think he realizes is 'Da Da' like for Daddy yet.
What we've been up to: Papa Eddie has been in the hospital with his leg so we have gone to visit him a couple of times and we try to go see Nana once a week.
On July 16 (Nana's 60th bday) we had Zane dedicated to God at our church. It was a great ceremony!! We had so many family and friends attend to support us and it was wondreful.

That same day/weekend we had a great family reunion with the Barber Family (G-mama Wilma's family) but after that he got bronchitis and had to have antibiotics. This past weekend Katy got married and Zane got to spend time with several family members, including lots of attention from Nana! The aunts fight over him! Aunt Debbie has come to stay with him twice so we could go out and she loved it!
Zane normally pulls up a lot to his knees on just about anything that will hold him...but he pulled up/stood all the way up a week ago...hasn't done it again since...good thing I caught it on video... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3y69iqzhbT4 and there's more below on him playing in his bed this same day!!
He is going to start spending the night places soon....probably when I have sinus surgery in a week or so. Or we may just ask someone to come stay with us for the weekend until I am back up and around.
