5 Months!!

First I have to start out by saying that I cannot believe my baby boy is already 5 months old!!  I thought time passed quickly, but when you are a parent it seems to speed up even more!!

We have lots to catch up on....last Friday (3/25) Zane had his physical therapy evaluation (PT was prescribed by Dr T) at Texas Children's and that went great!!  The therapist said he is meeting all his milestones and doing well. He doesn't need PT for his neck, they wouldn't be doing anything different than what we are doing at home (great news!!). He did a great job with every activity/movement she tried for him and told us what we could do at home to help build his core so he can work on sitting up on his own.

Later that night, Zane had solid food for the first time...banana mixed with breastmilk. He ate/drank it from a spoon like he had do it before! We were quite impressed that he didn't make a terrible mess. So we did that for 3 days and then moved on to sweet potato which we are finishing up tonight. Our next food will be yellow squash. I am just giving him very small amounts in the evening at home to see if he tolerates it and to look for reactions. Once we have a good list of foods he can eat then we will start incorporating them into his day at school.

On Saturday Zane took his first trip to Chuck E Cheese's for his cousin Kimble's 3rd birthday. He liked just looking around...it's like a casino for kids!! And might I add that at 10am that place is great!!

So last night Zane was laying on a blanket playing on the floor on his back and all of the sudden he swung his legs and rolled to his side! So pretty soon he will be able to roll from his back to his tummy. He did it several times and seemed to be having a good time. After we put him to bed, on his tummy, we was awake and talking around 3am...so Tony went to check on him and told me that he had turned over on his back and was just awake and talking and chewing on his thumb. Tony turned him back over and he fell back asleep shortly thereafter and slept the rest of the night...from bed time until I woke him this morning was 12 hours!!

Tony laughs because he thinks Zane is 3 days behind what the doctors expect...its funny because each time we see a doctor or therapist who asks if he is doing something (like has he discovered his feet) the answer is always no, but then 3 days later he does it!! He discovered his feet this week and grabs them all the time and tries to pull his sock off. Its just amazing to watch him learn and grow!!
